partha dasgupta's collection
partha dasgupta (b-1966) has a bva from the govt college of art & craft, calcutta and an mfa in ceramics from visva bharati, santiniketan.his base in kolkata provides an opportunity to explore an interest in installations and space design during the annual durga puja celebrations. he has collaborated with american artist tracy lee stum and experimented with 3d street paintings and ceramic refractory .partha has been to art camps in south korea,usa and bahrain, held solo exhibitions in kolkata, mumbai and participated in triennial in india-2005 and in the first ceramics triennial in india 2018,2major art and architecture designing projects in usa and india. he is a regular contributor of essays on ceramics and space designing projects in major publications. beside publication; he curated 3 shows, one on sukanta basu (renowned restorer & curator of ngma, new delhi) and two others on ceramics. he did 4 documentary films on durga puja and statues of kolkata. a recipient of senior and junior research fellowships, national scholarship and several grants from ministry of culture and national academy of art, he also works with nid's design projects.
